“Should I Stay or Should I Go?” is a double-bill which puts the question “What is a community?” at the front and centre of its shows. Whether it’s confronting the harsh reality of COVID lockdown rules, or leaving one's life behind and braving the unknown, our two shows take a closer look at the people whose lives have been affected by the decisions of staying or leaving and the communities that form around those decisions.
Featuring:
People's Republic of Comedy (PRC) (China)
Built around a small town of characters who already know each other, join PRC as they explore relationships within the community and the stories that unfold. With each new scene, time only moves forward exploring different combinations of characters and multiple locations around the town. Continuing a 15-year legacy of short and long form improv in Shanghai, join PRC for humour and artistry that pays homage to our namesake by making virtually no references to it.
The Beautiful Migration (International)
Focused on the premise of moving abroad, The Beautiful Migration seeks to create a space for people to share their experiences with migration and/or immigration, tapping on the international nature of the festival and make up of cosmopolitan Singapore to inspire the show. This team is an international collaboration consisting of improvisers from all over, celebrating the diversity of migrants in our community and highlighting the beauty of the migration experience.
