15. “Making Relationships out of Boundaries” by Wu, Hsiao-Hsien (GUTS) (Taiwan)

  • Dance Ops Studio (#03-02) 114 Middle Road Singapore, 188971 Singapore (map)

Synopsis:

Boundary issues are what cause conflicts very often in relationships. These conflicts make great and truthful improvised stories.

We are going to introduce four of the most common conflict types in relationship referenced from a book called “Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No, to Take Control of Your Life.”

How we react yes or no on stage in characters sometimes relate directly to our real life patterns as a person. By learning different conflict types, we get to play some types of characters and create some kind of relationships we don’t normally play.

You would be amazed by how easy and how hard it is for this boundary method to affect you and your fellow improvisers co-creating lively relationships in the moment.
